Material Lifts

Convenient, low-cost alternatives to elevators, Gillespie’s material lifts―or vertical reciprocating conveyors (VRCs)―are designed for moving any material, palletized loads or freight, to different building levels both inside and outside. Material lifts are prohibited from transporting riders.

Easy to install, our material lifts can be engineered so that no shaft or reinforced floors are required―a design that’s ideal for older buildings. We provide custom and standard material lifts that are fully compliant with ANSI/ASME B20.1 and OSHA and feature platforms of any size or capacity to meet every need; 2-, 3- or 4-side access. Every one of our material lifts is equipped with instantaneous safeties. In addition, we provide minimal building loads designs for transporting material to floors, with minimal hoistway/footprint required.

A perfect solution when space and budget restrictions preclude elevator installation, residential dumbwaiters are versatile, quiet and reliable. Gillespie designs custom dumbwaiters to accommodate virtually any situation or requirement, including easy incorporation during home-remodeling projects or multi-level residence construction. Used to transport everything from groceries to laundry and trash, our dumbwaiters include the following standard features: 200 lb capacity, with removable center shelf; 18 feet-per-minute speed; 20″w x 27″d x 24″h car size (other sizes available); 5-stop maximum; and 35′ travel limit.
